I hope you’ve heard about Hampton Creek Foods, and I\u00a0really\u00a0<\/em>hope you’ve already switched to using Just Mayo<\/a>. It is hands down the best vegan “mayo” in the market. But that’s not what I want to talk about it. I want to review the company’s newest product – just Cookie Dough<\/a>. I know this product began hitting shelves towards the end of 2014, but it just showed up at my local Whole Foods, and I couldn’t be more excited!<\/p>\n

What’s not to love about cookie dough that’s good for you, the environment, and animals. AND you can eat it right out of the container because it’s dairy free! The answer is a resounding nothing<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Hampton Creek really did it again. The dough\u00a0only takes a few minutes to soften up to room temperature after removing it from the refrigerator. It’s the perfect texture and easily formed into tablespoon sized cookie dough balls. I found myself sneaking little tastes while portioning out the dough. I haven’t tasted raw cookie dough like that in years! It was salty, it was a sweet, and it was a taste that was sorely missed!<\/p>\n

The jar contains enough batter for ~12 generously sized chocolate chip cookies.\u00a0Once you’ve placed all twelve servings on a baking sheet, you simply pop it in the oven at 375 degrees for about 9-10 minutes. I let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for another five minutes to make sure the bottom was nice and crisp. Then I opted to let them cool on a rack for a few more minutes.<\/p>\n

The end result is a\u00a0delicious<\/strong>, crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, vegan chocolate chip cookie. I can’t say enough good things about the taste, texture, and ease of this product. Five stars. A+. 10\/10.<\/p>\n

If you’re curious about the company’s next venture, word on the street is that it’s “just scramble.” It seems like a variation on a basic tofu scramble product. All I know is that I will be ready and waiting in line for whatever they release next. Just Mayo and Just Dough are both big hits in my book. I’m excited to see what Hampton Creek does next!<\/p>\n
