Traditional Bruschetta

Hello everyone,

Today a few of my friends are hosting a game night. I offered to bring an appetizer since the hosts are graciously handling the main the course – a DIY pasta bar!

Keeping with the Italian food theme, I’ve opted to bring a quick and easy traditional Italian bruschetta with a drizzled balsamic glaze and freshly grated vegan mozzarella cheese.

A Spicy Giveaway & Choco Banana-Oat Cookies!

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all staying warm! In an effort to help bring the heat, I am happy to announce my first product give away – a Siracha 2 Go keychain. Oh yes, now you can ensure you never have to head out to a restaurant without the sweet spicy chili sauce everyone knows and loves. I’ll also throw in some ‘surprise’ products as well.

Game Day Recipes: Avocado Jalapeño Wontons and Sriracha Cauliflower

Hello friends!

On Sunday I hosted a little get together. My friends and I gathered to play games while the ‘Big Game’ was on TV. From the feedback, my party treats were a hit. I made Roasted Sriracha Cauliflower Bites with Peanut Dipping Sauce from Thug Kitchen: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck and I whipped up some of my very own avocado jalapeño wontons.  Continue reading “Game Day Recipes: Avocado Jalapeño Wontons and Sriracha Cauliflower”

REVIEW: Field Roast Vegan Chao Slices, Love at First Bite

Hello friends!

I was on the road traveling for work today, and after such a long day all I could handle was a quick & easy dinner. What’s easier and tastier than a veggie burger on rye bread? Nothing!

Today I tried the new Tomato Cayenne Field Roast Vegan Chao slices rather than using my usual Daiya cheese. I have to say – it was love at first bite. (ha-ha, you see what I did there?)

Welcome to the Vegan Hostess!

Hello fellow vegans, the vegan-curious, the vegan supporters, and the vegan hopefuls of the internet world!

I’m Jocelyn, and I’ve been vegan for almost six years! (and vegetarian for 10 years before that!) One thing I’ve learned about sticking to a vegan diet, is that you have to learn to love to cook. I’m the first to admit it’s not easy to come home from a long day at work and cook a homemade meal using fresh ingredients and whole foods.

I plan to fill this blog with easy to follow recipes, reviews of outstanding recipe books, as well as, vegan-friendly restaurants in the Cleveland-metropolitan area. Oh – and sticking true to this blog’s title – I will include many, many potluck dishes and desserts that are sure to be a hit! From time to time, I will also share coupons and deals I find online for vegan products.

Please stay tuned and enjoy this photo of me eating a vegan crepe in British Columbia!

Cheers!
