Review: Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy Ice Cream

 Hi all,

So unless you’ve been hiding under a rock you’ve probably heard the buzz about the new non-dairy Ben & Jerry’s product line. It’s been selling out around town, but this week I finally obtained one!

BenJerrysnondairy

There are four certified vegan flavors—meaning no eggs, dairy or honey. The flavors are  P.B. & Cookies; Coffee Caramel Fudge; Chunky Monkey; and Fudge Brownie. The ice creams are made with almond milk to provide a creamy texture and “blank canvas” for taste.

I picked up a pint of Chunky Monkey. It’s a vegan version of their classic flavor with a FullSizeRenderbanana ice cream base with fudge chunks and walnuts. I thought it tasted great. The ice cream’s texture was very similar to that of So Delicious or Almond Dream brand “ice creams.”

I was pleasantly surprised with the banana flavor. It seems like many people in the bloggersphere think it’s too bold or tastes fake. While it is a strong flavor, I thought it was delicious! Additionally, it is packed with crunchy walnut bits and chocolate chunks! It is nearly impossible to get a spoonful without at least 2-3 bits which adds a nice crunch to each and every bite!

I urge you to run, don’t walk, to the store and pick up a pint of Ben & Jerry’s tonight! What flavor will you try first?

Cheers!

Jocelyn

  1. I just found these at my local shaws (grocery store) and they had a bunch of these flavours! I grabbed peanut butter. They are certainly delicious. In a town in southern Massachusetts if that helps! Hope you guys find them!
